Group Meeting 1 Minute

Monday 25th February 2019

Today we met as a group – points discussed and agreed:

First meeting of “Team Cage” after the groups were allocated and published for the coming Semester 2 Formative Graded Unit work – Documentary and One Hour Magazine Programme. Team Cage consists of myself, Ann Brown, Cameron Conner, Naomi Wilson and Francesca Sanna. Ann was absent from this meeting as she was not at college today.

This initial meeting was to get together to formulate some ideas for what we need to be discussing & doing to take this project forward, what our roles will be both singular and in the group, as well as looking at setting some initial ideas for topics, etc.

The discussion was healthy and productive, and the whole group recognised and agreed that Group Ground Rules were necessary to allow the actions ahead to be fruitful and workable. Group Rules decided upon include:

• Respect the contribution of each other without any prejudice.
• Allow each member the equal opportunity to contribute.
• Attend planned meetings – communicate with all member of the group is unable to attend prior to the meeting.
• Be supportive of each other in the group – be aware when others are maybe struggling, etc.
• Be supportive of each other and their contributions
• Be honest and open with each other, and be assertive to challenge each other in a non-threatening manner.
• Promote effective communication within the group – group in social media to be initiated and used to communicate with each other – keeping each other informed at all times of any changes, anomalies, concerns, etc regarding the group work.
• Encourage each other to participate to the best of their ability and capacity.
• Inform each other if timelines and/or deadlines are not being archived.
• Each meeting will be recorded for audio which will be included in each members WordPress Blog as evidence of contributors, discussion points, decision-making and contributions made from each member present.

Group agreed to these ground rules (in the absence of Ann) and will reconvene tomorrow at 2pm to discuss magazine Show Themes and topics for documentaries.
